We are thrilled to announce that G.E.M. (邓紫棋) is now the official Asia Ambassador for Care for Children! Gloria Tang Sze-Wing, professionally know as G.E.M. (Get Everybody Moving), is a Chinese singer-songwriter raised in Hong Kong and originally from Shanghai.

Now with over 7 million followers on Instagram, G.E.M.’s popularity has grown manifold ever since her debut in 2008 with the self-titled EP G.E.M., while her later studio albums including My Secret, Xposed, Heartbeat have broken major records. Notably, in 2016 she became the only Asian artist featured in the Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ most influential people, and in 2018 she was selected as one of the BBC 100 Women – the BBC’s list of the most inspiring and influential women from around the world.

G.E.M. recently shared some thoughtful words with Care for Children:

“Children need more than just food and someone to look after them, they need to feel loved in a family environment. Every child needs to have parents to really love and care for them. Only in this way can they grow up to reach their full potential.”

G.E.M. has already been extremely supportive of Care for Children! We would like to thank G.E.M. for donating all the proceeds from the sales of some of her merchandise to Care for Children and for also hosting the Asia premiere of 'Children of Shanghai' at Soneva.
