Rehabilitation and Trauma Therapy Training
As all foster children have experienced a variety of adversities and trauma in their early lives, and many have
suffered from conditions such as cerebral palsy, fostering a child with special needs is a challenging and
demanding job for foster parents.
To support foster parents and help children recover from their trauma and achieve their potential, Care for Children
conducted a 3-day Rehabilitation and Trauma Therapy Training Workshop at "The Centre" on 28
th
- 30
th
July.
24 delegates from 9 orphanages (Wuhan, Datong, Tianjin, Shenyang, Changchun, Shijiazhuang, Chengde,
Hengfeng and Yifeng) attended this exciting and very active training event.
The topics discussed are as follows:
*
Rehabilitation of Orphaned and Abandoned Children in Fostering
*
How to Come Up with Rehabilitation Solutions
*
Trauma Therapy
The training went smoothly and has successfully filled in the gaps of training needs on rehabilitation and trauma
counseling. Through this training the child care workers and foster carers have been effectively equipped with
advanced concepts and new techniques to help the disadvantaged children.
