Harlem Globetrotters at 'The Centre' in Beijing!

For six decades The Harlem Globetrotters have entertained and astounded basketball fans around the world. Today the team came to Care for Children, the Centre to perform for the children.

Names of the past like Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal have been synonymous with magic on the court, and laughter in the stands. Today The Harlem Globetrotters are partnering with the NBA to bring basketball and entertainment to more places around the globe.

六十多年来哈林环球旅行者篮球队为全世界篮球迷不断带来欢乐和惊叹。今天,球队来到英国关爱儿童中心,为该中心的儿童带来花式篮球表演。在哈林篮球队中诸如梅多拉克·莱蒙和Curly Neal 一样声名显赫的球员已经成为奇迹的代名词, 有他们的地方赛场上便有奇迹,看台上便少不了笑声。如今哈林篮球队与NBA合作, 致力于将篮球推广到世界更多地方。

Care for Children is excited to host these ambassadors of basketball. The organization facilitates orphaned children leaving institutions and becoming part of loving long-term foster families; Care for Children is shaped by the conviction that the long-term benefit to children of loving in a family of their own is of primary concern. This is achieved through the training of social workers and orphanage staff, based on robust professional standards, in a programme that can be replicated across the country. Today, Care for Children is active in over 220 orphanages in 30 provinces, and has placed thousands of children, who have spent their lives in China’s state and private orphanages, into foster homes.

英国关爱儿童中心的孩子门对于这次篮球大使的到来充满期待,该组织是一个致力于长期家庭寄养的
际慈善机构,在中国内地、香港、英国和美国拥有免税身份。英国关爱儿童组织深信长期家庭寄养对于孤残儿童生活甚至生命的改变是具有深远意义的,这一直也是本机构的首要任务。我们通过对项目点寄养工作管理和一线人员培训、项目监控指导、调研和评估来进行具体实施,包括策略性地地点选择和各种不同形式的培训会议和研讨会实施。

目前为止,英国关爱儿童组织已对近220个儿童福利院进行了培训,签约合作项目点38个,范围遍及30个省区,这直接带动了近万名孤儿从福利院进入了当地家庭寄养。
