The International Festival Chorus (IFC) hosted their
annual Madrigals Concert at the British Ambassador's Residence in Beijing,
China on Saturday 5 June. This year, proceeds from the tickets were donated to Care
for Children. They have raised an impressive total sum of RMB 20,000.
About
the IFC
Nicholas Smith, the founder and conductor of the IFC,
together with singers James Baer and Nancy Fraser created the IFC due to the
rising demand for a choir of talented, amateur singers who wanted to join the
Beijing musical community, while at the same time introducing Chinese audiences
to Western classical music.
The IFC uses to astonishing effect the wealth of
culture and experience of their global members to genuinely make a difference
to China's musical development.
The chorus invites
international soloists, as well as the best domestic performers, to participate
in all their concerts as a way of raising the standard of their singers, and
also to give discerning Beijing concert goers greater exposure to world-class
talent
