In February, Care for Children's team embarked on a trip to the Bahamas to explore potential project opportunities in line with its vision of a world of children in families. In the capital city of Nassau, Global Ambassador Shanyan Koder generously sponsored an exclusive screening event of the documentary 'Children of Shanghai'. The event, co-hosted by the China-Bahamas Friendship Association and The Old Fort Bay Club, brought together a mix of government officials, media personalities and business leaders to view the documentary and engage in thought-provoking discussions regarding the implementation of family-based care solutions.

“We are truly grateful for so much support received for this special screening in Nassau. There was great enthusiasm from all attendees and specific plans discussed with the local authorities to help orphans and vulnerable children in the Bahamas and neighbouring countries.”

The conversations sparked during the event laid the groundwork for future collaborations and partnerships aimed at transforming the lives of vulnerable children in the Bahamas. As plans take shape to co-host the first Regional Family Placement Conference in Nassau in early 2025, the stage is set for impactful initiatives that will shape the future of childcare in the region.

Reflecting on the trip to the Bahamas, our team was pleased with the success in connecting with key stakeholders and fostering meaningful discussions. These engagements have underscored the importance of family-based care solutions for vulnerable children and highlighted the collective responsibility to ensure every child thrives in a loving and secure family environment.
