Thai Delegation visits Kensington Palace
30 June 2015

We have had a successful start to our Thai Delegation visit to London, UK.
On Saturday evening we welcomed Mrs. Rarinthip Sirorat - Director-General of the Department of Children and Youth, Mrs. Teppawan Pornawalai - Youth Expert, Mrs. Vachira Tongtun - Director Division of Children and Family Welfare, Ms. Jiraporn Yamamoto - Superintendent, Chiang Mai Home For Boys, Ms. Krisavarna Varamisra – Social Development Officer and Thomas Abbott – Care for Children's South East Asia Project Manager.
Monday began with meetings in The House of Lords where the delegation met with Care for Children’s great friend and expert in Social Welfare, Lord Laming. Lord Laming walked through the history of some of the UK’s social services enabling a time for open discussion regarding the future for Social Welfare in Thailand.

Today we have visited our Royal Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent at Kensington Palace. HRH Prince Michael was fantastic at asking insightful questions about the progress of Care for Children and Family Placement as a whole in Thailand. It was fantastic to involve him in this trip as we continue to strengthen our relationship and partnership.

The final few days hold many more exciting meetings with movers and shakers in the Social Welfare system here in the UK.

So, to be continued…..
