A Global Strategy

Care for Children exists to see a world of children in families. To achieve this vision, we are building on our proven model of government-led child welfare reform to increase our impact across more countries and regions.

Our long-term strategy involves a regional hub approach that will enable this learning and expertise to be shared more widely. By working with selected countries to establish strong examples of family care reform, we aim to create centres of excellence that can inspire, support and accelerate change across neighbouring nations.

This approach combines government leadership, local capacity building and digital learning tools such as My Family, helping countries access practical resources, training and experience drawn from project sites we have worked with in countries such as China, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Through this strategy, Care for Children aims to support more countries in transitioning from institutional care to family-based care, reaching more children with lasting and sustainable solutions.

Care for Children has already received invitations and enquiries from 24 countries across the world, and we are exploring hubs in Southern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Carribean.

The country pages across this section of the website showcase the partnerships and programmes that have shaped Care for Children's approach and continue to inform the development of our regional hub strategy.
